New Service

Overdraft Advance is a new service that allows the credit union to pay an item presented for payment against your account even if it causes the account to become overdrawn.  This is not an excuse for you to overdraw your account, nor is it a line of credit.  This is simply an added layer of security for your account should something unexpected happen.

This does not replace any other overdraft protection method and there is also a limit on this service.  We will look for other methods to pay these overdrafts before using the overdraft advance.  The member will still be charged an NSF fee, which is currenty $35, but the item will not be returned.  This will save you the embarrassment and any additional charges.  You will then have 30 days to bring your account back to a positive balance.  If you exceed the Overdraft limit of $500, the check will be returned unpaid and the fee will still be charged to your account.
